AIC Worksheet

I is the short circuit current at the transformer

f is the factor needed to make the calculation

L is the length of the service drop conductor in feet to include conductors in service mast or riser

C is the constant from the table based on raceway type and length Find the table HERE.

E line to line is the service voltage

M is the multiplier needed to make the calculation

SCA is the short circuit current amps at the service equipment

Step One - Short Circuit Current at Transformer I = __________________________ (From power company)

Step Two - Find the factor for the work determined by the service drop.
                 Formula f factor = (2 times L times I) divided by (C times E line to line) f = (2 L I ) divided by (C times E l to l)

Be sure to use brackets when entering data into the formulas as shown in the formula.

                 Note, if the service is three phase, use 1.732 instead of 2 in this formula to find the factor

Step Three - Find the multiplier M
                   Formula 1 divided by (1 plus f factor from above)  M = 1 divided by (1 + f) = M

Step Four - Find SCA Short Circuit Amps
                 SCA = M X I (from power company)  SCA = M times I = SCA
